I did some research and decided to get a Gibson Les Paul Standard. Gibsons have a strong following, and they are beautiful instruments. I'm waiting on it now. I plan on teaching myself, using the internet and some books. If that doesn't work out, I'll seek professional lessons. I'm pretty amped, pun fully intended. I can't wait to start at absolute zero, and learn a new craft.I plan on using earphones plugged into an amp, so I won't bother Leigh or the kids. That way I can practice at work too. Leigh had been pretty supportive, while remaining skeptical of my dedication. I really love my wife because even with her doubts, she backs me up. Maybe I can get here to take drum lessons.

Guitar Hero!!!
Since I just turned 37, I figured I'm half way through life, so I'm due a crisis. Porshes are too expensive, and I'm a truck guy. My shooting is getting real expensive due to ammo costs, so I can't do it as often as I'd like. So, for about six or seven months now, I've been thinking about learning how to play guitar. I love music, and the guitar is pretty universal for different genres. My favorite musicians are all guitar players; David Gilmour, Billy Joe Armstrong, Dave Grohl, Slash, Jimmy Page, etc.
